Hisense, a major Chinese television manufacturer, has launched two new lines of RGB MiniLED televisions aimed at the Chinese market: the U7T Pro and E7S Pro+. These models are part of Hisense's expanding lineup that features RGB MiniLED technology, a more advanced form of backlighting used in LCD TVs. The U7T Pro is designed to deliver high-quality visuals and sound, while the E7S Pro+ focuses on technical performance and high-end features. The U7T Pro includes a new generation of RGB MiniLED backlighting, which uses red, green, and blue LEDs to enhance color accuracy and brightness. It also features an anti-reflective panel and a H7 processing chip, which helps in delivering sharper images. Hisense claims the U7T Pro can achieve up to 103% coverage of the BT.2020 color standard, which is used in high-definition broadcasting. The television also supports a 4K panel that can operate at 180 Hz natively, and it includes a 4.2.2 audio system designed by Devialet, capable of producing up to 330 W of sound on larger models. The E7S Pro+ is available in three sizes—75, 85, and 100 inches—and offers a high number of color control zones, which are areas on the screen that can be individually adjusted for brightness. The model claims to have 3,888, 5,184, and 7,560 color control zones on the respective sizes. However, this number does not directly translate to the number of physical zones used in traditional local dimming technology. The E7S Pro+ also boasts a peak brightness of 6,000 cd/m² on the 85 and 100-inch models, supports Dolby Vision 2 Max, and includes four HDMI 2.1 ports. Hisense mentions a 360 Hz mode, though it does not specify the resolution it operates at. Pricing for the E7S Pro+ starts at 11,499 yuan (about 1,500 euros) for the 75-inch model, while the U7T Pro of the same size is priced at 15,499 yuan (about 2,000 euros). Hisense has also introduced new image profiles tailored for specific content, including one developed for the game Phantom Blade Zero. These new models highlight Hisense’s growing focus on segmenting its product line around RGB MiniLED technology, which is intended to offer better light efficiency and more saturated colors compared to traditional MiniLED backlighting. Unlike emissive technologies such as MicroLED, RGB MiniLED is still based on LCD technology, using LEDs to backlight the screen rather than emitting light directly.
