Beta test date confirmed

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the beta test for World of Warcraft Forever will begin on October 21 at 7 p.m. Paris time. This date replaces an earlier announcement of October 19, which has been canceled.

General release date set

The redesigned version of the World of Warcraft world, known as World of Warcraft Forever, is set for a general release on November 4. This version brings updated content and features to the long-running game.

Stress test planned for launch

To ensure a smooth launch, Blizzard plans to conduct a large-scale stress test. This test will simulate a high number of players logging in at once to evaluate the game’s server and network performance.

Stress test date speculation

On October 14, the gaming website Icy Veins reported that the Battle.net launcher listed a stress test with an opening date of October 19. However, Blizzard has not officially confirmed this date, and it may not align with the beta’s end date of October 21.

Purpose of the stress test

The stress test is designed to push the game’s infrastructure to its limits, allowing Blizzard to identify and fix potential issues before the official release. This approach is commonly used in the video game industry, as seen with Diablo IV in May 2023.

New content preview

The stress test will also give players a chance to explore new content from World of Warcraft Forever, including the Eolides, a new playable race, and their home island of Zephras.
