France Travail Mayotte is testing a new approach to bring monthly job seeker updates closer to residents through local services and digital buses.
France Travail Mayotte launches experiment
France Travail Mayotte is running a special experiment from October 28 to November 15, 2026, to bring monthly job seeker updates closer to people on the island of Mayotte. The goal is to make public services more accessible to the local population, known as Mahorais.Addressing travel challenges
Many people in Mayotte face difficulties accessing administrative services due to long distances and limited mobility. To help, France Travail Mayotte is using a "going towards" approach, which means it is bringing services to people instead of requiring them to travel to service centers.Locations of the experiment
During the experiment, job seekers can complete their monthly updates at four Maison France Services locations: Dembéni, Dzoumogné, Hamjago, and Labattoir in Petite-Terre. Two digital buses will also operate in Chirongui and Dzoumogné to reach more people in these areas.Support for job seekers
France Travail counselors will work with Maison France Services staff to help job seekers with their procedures, ensure updates are completed smoothly, and identify any issues they may face. This collaboration is intended to better understand the needs of users and improve service delivery.Evaluating the experiment
At the end of the experiment, a report will be created to assess the effectiveness of the initiative. The findings could lead to improved training for Maison France Services staff and possibly a permanent expansion of the service across Mayotte. The initiative aims to reduce barriers caused by geography and ensure everyone has equal access to public services.
