Level-5, a Japanese video game developer, revealed nearly 83 minutes of gameplay from several upcoming projects at the Tokyo Game Show, which took place from September 17 to 20 last year. The showcased games include Professor Layton and the New Steam World, Decapolice, and Holy Horror Mansion, each featuring exploration and combat sequences. These previews gave fans a glimpse into the gameplay mechanics and storylines of these new titles. For Decapolice, the longest segment of gameplay focused on two activities related to the Tokyo convention. One sequence, titled "City Patrol," involved patrolling the city, while the other, "Case Quest," revolved around solving criminal cases. The game follows Harvard Marks, a young investigator who leads a team of rookie officers in the fictional city of Broadstone, where crime is a major issue. Decapolice is set to release in 2027 for PC, Switch 2, and PS5. A 27-minute segment of Holy Horror Mansion was presented as a "Ghost Craft RPG." The game takes place in a city filled with supernatural elements, where the hero lives in a mansion built on top of a building owned by his grandmother. This mansion acts as a portal to the afterlife. Using a camera named Cameron, the hero can bring objects to life, transforming them into creatures called Mononoke, which join his team. Players can also create new creatures by combining objects and plans, and these can be turned into dungeons for exploration. Holy Horror Mansion is expected to be released in 2027 on PS5, Switch 2, and PC. A playable demo of Professor Layton and the New Steam World was made available during the convention. This game, part of the popular Professor Layton puzzle series, is set to launch on December 10, 2026, for PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and PC. The title continues the tradition of combining engaging puzzles with an intriguing storyline, set in a world where steam power plays a central role.
