Barceló Hotel Group has expanded its footprint in Asia with the opening of the Occidental Bangtao Beach Resort in Phuket, Thailand. Situated on Bang Tao Beach, the resort features 202 rooms and suites across 15 categories. Eighty-six of these rooms offer direct access to a swim-up pool from their private terrace, combining convenience with luxury. The resort provides direct beach access, a large outdoor pool, and a range of dining options, including the Beach Club Restaurant & Bar, a buffet restaurant, a poolside snack bar, and a seaside café. These amenities aim to cater to a variety of guest preferences and needs. For leisure and wellness, the resort offers a variety of activities such as sports, yoga sessions, massages, and cooking classes. A kids club is also planned to provide entertainment and activities for families with children. The hotel includes four dedicated spaces for meetings and events, including a ballroom that can host more than 200 people. These facilities are designed to accommodate both corporate and social gatherings, enhancing the resort's appeal to a broad range of visitors. The opening of the Occidental Bangtao Beach Resort is part of a management contract and aligns with Barceló Hotel Group's broader strategy to expand its presence in the Asian market. This move follows the group's previous venture in Thailand with the Barceló Coconut Island resort, making this the second Barceló Hotel Group property in the country. The expansion underscores the group's commitment to growing its portfolio in Asia, where tourism continues to be a significant economic driver. The new resort is expected to contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and attracting more international visitors to Phuket. With its mix of luxury accommodations, recreational activities, and event spaces, the Occidental Bangtao Beach Resort aims to become a popular destination for both leisure and business travelers in the region.
