CHERY unveils new SUV model

On October 21 in Wuhu, the Chinese automaker CHERY introduced the Chery Tiggo X7, the first SUV in its new TIGGO X series. This model is designed for families who need a vehicle that can handle both city driving and more rugged outdoor adventures.

Designed for family exploration

Families today often need a vehicle that can switch between urban commutes and weekend excursions. The Chery Tiggo X7 is built to meet this demand, offering comfort, space, and technology to keep up with the pace of modern family life. It is specifically targeted at families who enjoy exploring both city and natural environments.

Official launch at brand event

The Chery Tiggo X7 was revealed during the "CHERY Brand Night" in Wuhu, China, on the sidelines of the "Chery International User Summit 2026." This event marked the beginning of the new TIGGO X range, which is positioned as a "Family Comfort Exploration SUV" with the slogan "Explore Together, Enjoy Anywhere."

Vehicle specifications and design

The Chery Tiggo X7 is a large SUV, measuring 4,636 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,788 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Its design features a straight roof line, structured proportions, and sharp contours, combining robustness with the CHERY brand's signature style. The interior focuses on intuitive controls, layered materials, and warm lighting for a family-friendly atmosphere.

All-terrain capabilities

To handle challenging terrains, the TIGGO X7 includes an all-terrain chassis and multi-scenario technology. It offers three driving modes for daily use and six specialized modes for difficult conditions like snow, mud, and rock. The vehicle has a ground clearance of over 200 mm and obstacle crossing capacity of 700 mm, enhanced by a crawl control feature for better maneuverability.

Hybrid power and efficiency

Under the hood, the Chery Tiggo X7 features the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology, available in both hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions. It provides up to 115 kW of power and 220 Nm of torque, with a thermal efficiency of 45.79%. This allows the SUV to transition smoothly between urban and off-road environments without changing gears.

Interior comfort and adaptability

The interior of the TIGGO X7 is designed with six dimensions of comfort in mind. It includes a three-zone air conditioning system, a water ion generator for humidity control, and a CO₂ monitoring system for improved air quality. The cabin also features noise-reducing materials and an AI-based system that adapts the environment to each occupant’s preferences.

Flexible seating and storage

The rear bench of the Chery Tiggo X7 is split 40:20:40 and can be folded with a single gesture, allowing for flexible reconfiguration of passenger and cargo space. The trunk features an adjustable floor and doors that can accommodate 1.5-liter bottles, making it suitable for various needs like shopping, pets, or outdoor gear.

Safety features and driver assistance

The Chery Tiggo X7 includes multiple safety features, such as a tire burst stabilization system that helps maintain control during a flat tire. It also offers between six to nine airbags and a high-strength steel body, with more than 75% of the structure made of 340 MPa or higher steel. Additional features include parking assist, low-speed warning sounds, and driver and occupant monitoring systems.
