Penny Branning and Vinny Panesar are preparing for a major moment in their lives as they welcome their first child in the long-running BBC soap EastEnders. However, their happiness is overshadowed by a secret that could change everything. As Penny begins experiencing early labour pains, she becomes anxious about the health of her unborn baby. After a reassuring visit to the hospital, she is told that everything is on track, but the signs indicate that her baby’s arrival is imminent. As Vinny celebrates his 30th birthday, the family plans a special party to mark the occasion. However, Penny is preoccupied with a different concern—she is considering telling Vinny that he may not be the biological father of their child. Her cousin, Lauren, notices her distress and urges her to open up. Though Lauren pleads with Penny to reconsider the impact of such a revelation, Penny remains determined to tell the truth. Just as she prepares to share her secret, the situation takes an unexpected turn. During the birthday party, tensions rise when Suki unintentionally upsets Penny, prompting her to go outside. There, her waters break, and she goes into active labour. The planned confession is put on hold as Suki and Jack step in to support Penny through the birth. Meanwhile, Vinny is still enjoying the party, and it takes the efforts of Harry and Gina to get him to the hospital in time. The couple eventually welcomes a healthy baby boy, but the secret about the child’s paternity remains unresolved. The next day, Penny and Vinny join their families for a traditional naming ceremony for their newborn son. However, the peace is disrupted when someone reveals they overheard Penny’s earlier conversation with Lauren. This revelation threatens to unravel everything, especially since Vinny is still unaware of the potential truth about his son’s biological parentage. As the drama unfolds, the question remains: how long can Penny keep her secret, and will the truth eventually come to light?
