Razer, a well-known name in gaming peripherals, has introduced a more affordable version of its Clio head cushion wireless speaker, called the Clio X, priced at $110. This new model is much cheaper than the original Clio, which launched last year at $230. The Clio X was revealed at PAX West 2026, a popular gaming convention, and is designed to work with all of Razer’s gaming chairs. To use it, users attach it to the headrest using an adjustable nylon strap and connect it to a 15W USB-C power source, such as a portable power bank. The main difference between the Clio X and the original Clio lies in their audio components. The flagship model uses 43mm full-range aluminum cone drivers, which are known for high-quality sound. In contrast, the Clio X features two 38mm loudspeakers and two 55mm passive radiators. These components are designed to deliver an immersive audio experience even in a more compact form. The Clio X also uses THX Spatial Audio technology, which transforms standard stereo sound into a 360-degree audio experience, giving users a more realistic sense of sound direction and depth. The Clio X connects to a computer using Razer’s HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz wireless technology, which was developed for competitive gaming. This technology is designed to provide a low-latency connection, ensuring that audio is synchronized with on-screen action, which is especially important in fast-paced games. For users who want even more sound, the Clio X can be connected to a soundbar, allowing for a more powerful audio setup. Razer recommends using a PD2.0 power source with the Clio X, though it is not included in the package. Using a non-PD power source will limit the speaker’s power and reduce its maximum volume. The battery life of the Clio X depends on the power bank used, and Razer suggests using a power bank with a capacity of at least 10,000mAh for optimal performance. The Clio X is now available for purchase through Razer’s official website or select retail stores.
