Fujifilm unveils the Instax Square 2, a budget-friendly instant camera with creative filters and a modern design, launching in late October.
New instant camera released
Fujifilm has launched the Instax Square 2, a new instant camera with a square format, priced lower than previous models. This release continues Fujifilm’s updated line of square-format instant cameras, following the Instax Pal 2 and Link Wide 2.Features and design improvements
The Instax Square 2 includes a new design, two filters to adjust the visual tone of photos, and maintains ease of use, all at a reduced price. It retains a simple, user-friendly approach and uses silver-based film, while adding limited creative options without complicating the settings.Release date and pricing details
The Instax Square 2 will be available from October 28, 2026, with a recommended price of 110 €, lower than the previous model’s 130 € launch price. It comes in three modern colors: terracotta red, slate blue, and "misty" white, with a more rounded design and a small front mirror for framing selfies.Camera operation and technical details
To take photos, users turn a lens ring to select one of three focusing ranges: Macro for close-up shots, Standard for mid-range subjects, and Landscape for distant scenes. The camera automatically adjusts exposure, and a built-in flash fires with each photo, with no option to disable it. It uses Instax Square films with a 62 × 62 mm image area, requiring about 90 seconds for development, depending on temperature.New film option available
Fujifilm is also launching the Instax Square Soft Haze film, which features a new emulsion to produce less saturated colors and softer shadows. This film complements the camera’s filters, offering a different aesthetic. It will be available in late October for 12 € for ten exposures, or about 1.20 € per photo.
