The first official hotel built within the Minecraft universe is set to open in 2027 as part of the Minecraft World theme park, according to recent announcements made during Minecraft LIVE, an annual event for Minecraft fans. The park will be located at the Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Chessington, Greater London, England. This development marks a significant expansion of the Minecraft brand into physical entertainment experiences, combining the game's creative and block-based world with real-world attractions. Alongside the themed hotel, the park will feature a new roller coaster called Escape the Nether. The Nether is a dangerous dimension in the Minecraft game known for its fiery landscape and challenging gameplay. The roller coaster will likely incorporate elements of this environment, offering visitors an immersive experience based on the game's lore. Both the hotel and the roller coaster are expected to open in 2027, as confirmed by Merlin Entertainments, the company behind the Chessington Resort, and Mojang Studios, the developers of Minecraft. The Minecraft World area will include a variety of attractions inspired by the game. Visitors can expect to see wooden houses, Creepers—the game’s explosive enemies—and TNT blocks, which are in-game items that can be used to destroy blocks. There will also be a dining area set in the Nether, interactive play areas built with blocks, and themed shops selling Minecraft-related merchandise. These elements aim to create an environment where fans can experience the game's world in a tangible, real-life setting. In addition to the physical park, a new in-game dimension will be introduced, marking the first such addition to Minecraft in 14 years. This new dimension will expand the game's universe, offering players new challenges, environments, and gameplay possibilities. The combination of the new in-game content and the physical theme park represents a major milestone for Minecraft, further integrating the game into both digital and real-world entertainment.
