Lucid, an American electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially revealed the pricing for its Air and Gravity models in France on September 24, in a press release. The company aims to reclaim the high-end electric sedan and SUV segment that was previously dominated by Tesla's Model S and Model X, which are no longer in production. When Tesla's models return to the French market in October 2025, they will start at 109,990 euros and 114,990 euros, respectively. In contrast, the cheapest Lucid model, the Air Pure, starts at 86,900 euros—nearly 23,000 euros less than the Tesla Model S. Lucid offers four versions for each of its models, with significant price differences between them.
The Lucid Air lineup ranges from the Air Pure, a single-motor vehicle with 442 horsepower and an 88 kWh battery, to the high-performance Air Sapphire, which features three motors, 1,251 horsepower, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds. However, the Sapphire has a reduced range of 694 km compared to the Air Grand Touring, which holds the record for the longest range at 960 km on the WLTP (World Light-duty Vehicle Test Procedure) cycle. The Air Touring, with a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive, offers 628 horsepower but has a slightly shorter range than the Grand Touring. Interestingly, the choice of wheel size affects the range—larger wheels reduce the distance slightly.
The Lucid Gravity models are more affordable, with the base Gravity Touring priced at 95,900 euros and offering a 545 km range. The Gravity Touring Plus adds a third row of seats, increasing capacity to seven seats but reducing the range slightly to 536 km. The Gravity Grand Touring, priced at 120,900 euros, offers more power, a larger battery, and faster charging capabilities, with a range of 739 km. The top-tier Gravity Grand Touring Ultimate adds luxury features such as rear-wheel steering, a three-chamber air suspension, and an advanced sensor system for semi-autonomous driving, though its range is slightly lower at 712 km.
Lucid has strong technical features that could set it apart in the luxury electric vehicle market. However, it remains a relatively small manufacturer, having sold only 15,841 vehicles worldwide in 2025—about half of what Tesla sold in its Model S and X. Despite this, Lucid will showcase its Air Grand Touring and Gravity Grand Touring models at the Paris Motor Show from October 12 to 18, 2026. The company has not yet announced when orders will open or when deliveries will begin. Distribution in France will be handled by the Emil Frey group, with whom Lucid established a partnership in early September.
