Users of Android devices can get early access to upcoming software updates by joining beta testing programs. These programs allow users to try out future versions of the operating system before they are officially released. This applies to not only the core Android system but also to manufacturer-specific skins, such as Samsung's One UI. For example, owners of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8 are already using One UI 9, which is based on Android 17. Meanwhile, Galaxy S26 users can test a beta version of One UI 9, which is currently in its seventh iteration. This beta version introduces AI features that were previously only available on the Z Fold 8. According to leaker Tarun Vats on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S25 is now part of the beta testing program for One UI 9. The beta update for the Galaxy S25 is slightly over 3.8 GB in size, and its serial number ends with either ZZHL or DZHK. It remains unclear whether the Galaxy S25 Edge is among the devices included in the beta. However, the Galaxy S25 FE is supported in South Korea. At the moment, the One UI 9 beta is available for Galaxy S25 users in South Korea, India, and the United Kingdom, but not in France. If Samsung follows the same release pattern as with the Galaxy S26, users in Germany, Poland, and the United States can expect the beta to become available soon. In France, however, users may have to wait for the stable version of the update, which is expected to be released between September and October 2026. This timeline would apply to the Galaxy S26, S25, S24, and S23 models. Until then, users in France will need to wait for the official release of the update.
