Samsung is rolling out One UI 9, the latest version of its user interface, to more of its Galaxy smartphones after initially launching it on the newest foldable models. Just over a month after the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 started shipping, the update is now available on the Galaxy S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, and even the newer Galaxy S26 FE. This expansion means users across a wider range of devices can now enjoy the new features that were first introduced on foldables.
One of the standout features coming to more devices is My FanCam, which uses artificial intelligence to automatically crop videos to focus on a specific person, even as they move. For example, at a concert, you could film the entire band in a wide shot, and My FanCam would adjust the video to highlight your favorite performer in your preferred format. This feature is just one of several AI-powered tools now available in One UI 9.
Other notable additions include Now Brief, which allows users to create more customizable daily summaries using generative and editable cards. The update also introduces Now Nudge, which pulls personal data from across Samsung’s ecosystem to offer helpful suggestions, like automatically pulling reservation details into a text message. The Interpreter app has a new Thread View to make it easier to follow translated conversations, while Voice Recorder now provides more structured summaries with headings and tables. Document Scan also gets an upgrade, making it simpler to capture curved or folded pages without needing extensive manual adjustments.
In addition to these features, One UI 9 introduces Security Brief, which alerts users to potential malware and other security threats, and expands scam call detection to new regions including Japan, Canada, and India. These updates aim to improve both the user experience and the overall security of Samsung devices.
