Geely, a Chinese automotive company known for owning prestigious brands like Volvo and Lotus, has introduced a new all-electric sedan called the Galaxy TT in China. The car was officially launched on September 10, following over 20,000 pre-orders within just 15 days of its initial unveiling. The Galaxy TT is currently only sold in China, starting at 129,900 yuan (approximately 16,758 euros). However, its price in Europe is expected to be much higher due to import taxes and other costs associated with international sales.
The Galaxy TT offers two power options: a standard monomotor version with a maximum output of 329 horsepower and a more powerful all-wheel-drive variant that delivers 570 horsepower. It is powered by a 75.2 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, which allows the car to travel up to 527 kilometers on a single charge, as measured by the World Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric sedans on the market.
One of the Galaxy TT’s standout features is its advanced 800-volt electrical system, which supports a fast 6C charging rate. This system enables the car to charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 12 minutes, significantly reducing charging time. The vehicle also includes a newly developed 16-in-1 motor system by Geely, which improves efficiency and reduces energy use to 8.2 kWh per 100 km. This system has a high power density of 15.8 horsepower per kilogram and an efficiency of 93.8 percent, making it one of the most efficient electric vehicle powertrains available.
The Galaxy TT has a spacious design, measuring 5 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width, and 1.48 meters in height, with a 2.92-meter wheelbase. Inside, it features a modern and highly technological cockpit, including a 15.4-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster that runs the Flyme Auto 2.0 system. The car provides ample storage space, with a 528-liter trunk and an 110-liter front compartment. It also includes autonomous driving features, available in two levels, which support both city and highway driving, as well as "door-to-door" navigation and automated parking. However, Geely has not yet announced a specific timeline for when the Galaxy TT might be available in Europe.
