T7 tram extension changes local traffic

The extension of the T7 tramway in Juvisy-sur-Orge has led to a new traffic reorganization around the City Park, starting on Monday, November 2, 2026. Piver Street will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on November 4, 5, and 6, and its usual two-way traffic will be replaced with one-way traffic. These changes are outlined in a work notice published by Île-de-France Mobilités on October 30.

Piver Street traffic direction changes

Piver Street will be organized to allow traffic only from the city center toward RN7. Drivers who previously used it in the opposite direction will need to adjust their routes accordingly. Île-de-France Mobilités also announced three night closures on November 4, 5, and 6, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. A definitive work schedule will be shared later by the organizing authority.

Public transport routes are modified

Public transport routes are being adjusted to accommodate the changes. Buses 285 and 486 heading to Juvisy Station will be rerouted via Piver Street, Gounod Avenue, and Terrasse Avenue. This change will particularly affect travelers who use these lines for transfers with the RER C and D. Passengers should check stop points and passage times before their trips.

Piver Street remains a key access route

Piver Street continues to serve as an important link between the city center, the park, and National Highway 7. The new traffic organization overlaps with other tramway developments in the area, requiring clear distinctions between vehicle, bus, and pedestrian routes depending on the section of the street.

Construction work begins in the park

In the lower part of the park, construction work is set to begin around two months from November 2, from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. On Piver Street, the construction phase is expected to last about three weeks, with weekday night work from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. These timeframes align with the preliminary schedule provided by the project owner.

Preparation for tramway construction

Teams are setting up the necessary civil engineering sites and sound barriers to reduce the impact of the construction. Safety operations and tree cutting are also planned in the lower part of the park. These activities are part of the preparation for the tramway works that will follow.

Pedestrian access to the park is maintained

Pedestrian access to the park remains available through the main entrance on Piver Street, accessible via a staircase. Île-de-France Mobilités also announced that access to nearby housing, shops, and parking lots will be maintained. Access to the park from RN7 remains possible.

Park gate removal and restoration

A previous intervention involved the removal of the park gate, scheduled to be completed by November 27. The gate will be restored and reinstalled after the civil engineering works are complete. The maintenance of pedestrian pathways was also announced as part of this operation.

T7 tram extension adds new stations

The T7 tram extension will add 3.7 kilometers and six new stations between Athis-Mons and Juvisy-sur-Orge, passing through Paray-Vieille-Poste. The future line will connect to Juvisy Station, a key transfer point for the RER C and D. The project details from Île-de-France Mobilités outline this route and its goal of linking to the Orly-Rungis area.

Underground works planned for 2026

Civil engineering works in Juvisy include the construction of an underground station at Observatoire and a tunnel beneath the Ducastel and City Park. These works are scheduled to begin in December 2026. The preparations starting in November are aimed at setting the stage for this phase of the project.

Sanitation work continues on another avenue

The City of Juvisy-sur-Orge notes that Avenue d'Estienne-d'Orves will remain affected by sanitation work and partial traffic closures until mid-December. For inquiries about the T7 construction site, residents can contact the local agent at 06 21 63 93 67.
