OnlyOffice unveils version 10.0 with AI-powered editors, new modules, and enhanced security across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
New features in OnlyOffice 10.0
OnlyOffice has released version 10.0 of its office suite, which includes about 50 new features and over 1,000 fixes across web, desktop, and mobile versions. This update aims to enhance productivity and user experience across all platforms.AI integration in editors
The update adds AI capabilities to its editors, with a contextual AI tab in each editor that groups a chat and ready-to-use prompts for summarizing, translating, correcting, or formatting. The AI reads the open file, eliminating the need to copy its content elsewhere.AI functions in different document types
In the spreadsheet, the AI writes formulas, establishes forecasts, and cleans data. In the PDF, it answers questions and redacts sensitive information. In presentations, it suggests a plan and speaker notes. Additional features like quick actions and assistants are also available.AI model selection and activation
The model is selected based on the task to be performed. In the cloud, the service uses OpenRouter, a gateway to multiple models, and is activated by crediting a wallet. On a server, any model can connect, including local models hosted by the organization, keeping documents within the company.Mobile AI enhancements
On mobile, the assistant accepts new providers, including Grok and DeepSeek. It also fills out forms and manages voice input on the device. These features aim to improve usability and efficiency on mobile platforms.Changes to open source versions
Following user feedback, the integrated AI has been removed from the open source versions and is now a separate module to install, including in Desktop Community. Four new modules and 35 vulnerabilities fixed are part of the update.New applications and services
Four new applications complete OnlyOffice Docs. Agents IA automates tasks with a knowledge base and MCP servers, a standard that connects an AI agent to tools. Forms collects data and analyzes it with AI. Files centralizes storage and access. Rooms offers collaboration spaces, including virtual data rooms for confidential content.Licensing and legal issues
In the cloud, everything is enabled by default. The four services are published under the AGPL v3 license. This is also the license at the heart of the dispute with Euro-Office, a fork launched by a European consortium. OnlyOffice alleged a violation of this license and suspended its partnership with Nextcloud.Enhanced editing tools
Developers have refined the editing tools. The PDF tool can remove metadata before sharing a file. It also personalizes annotations, automatically recognizes tables, and reuses signatures. It is possible to disable the spell check of forms.Collaboration and formatting improvements
In collaboration mode, it is now possible to track a colleague's cursor. It is possible to adjust horizontal lines or keep linked paragraphs on the same page. Table rows can move from one page to another, and right-to-left writing gains reliability.Spreadsheet and presentation upgrades
The spreadsheet accelerates certain functions such as SUMIFS, COUNTIFS. It highlights formula ranges, indicates where to place constants, animates the copied selection, and accepts sheet backgrounds. The presentation software can add display modes, printing options, and export to GIF or video.File format support and plugins
The OnlyOffice suite can now open .ofd files, save documents in .xls, or convert an SVG to an editable format. Plugins Antidote, Curly, and Salesforce arrive in a redesigned manager. Finally, in terms of security, 35 vulnerabilities are fixed, though OnlyOffice has not yet detailed these.Free and business use
While the OnlyOffice suite is primarily aimed at businesses, it offers a free version for individuals that allows creating Word, Excel, PowerPoint type documents, and forms. Highly ergonomic, it also plays the card of self-hosting and security.
