New soundbar model released

The Samsung HW-Q600H is a new soundbar in the Q-Series, replacing the HW-Q610F from 2025. It features a 3.1.2 audio configuration with nine speakers, including a wireless subwoofer and optional surround speakers.

Technical specifications and design

The HW-Q600H has dimensions of 6 x 111 x 12 cm and includes a wireless subwoofer with a basic finish. It supports multiple audio formats and has a design with an angular silhouette and metal mesh grille, differing from more premium models.

Connectivity and smart features

The soundbar includes wireless connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and supports protocols like Google Cast, Alexa Cast, AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect. It features an integrated Alexa voice assistant and a Wi-Fi module for lossless music streaming.

Accessories and connectivity ports

The HW-Q600H comes with a remote control, an HDMI cable, a wall mount, and two power cords. Its connectivity ports are divided into two groups, including an optical input, HDMI eARC port, and a USB-A port for service.

Setup and user interface

The initial setup via the SmartThings app is smooth, requiring a Samsung account. The app has a clear interface and includes features like Sound Elevation, AI Adaptive Sound, and Auto Volume, though some advanced options are reserved for higher-end models.

Sound performance and user experience

The HW-Q600H delivers a balanced and controlled sound with natural reproduction of voices and some energetic upper-mid range. However, the subwoofer is too demonstrative, with a lack of control and trailing effects that affect the balance.

Surround effects and limitations

The absence of side speakers limits the surround effects to the sides of a 65" television. The Surround mode slightly improves the sound scene but reduces precision. The bass gains control in this mode, and aerial effects are more effective.

Comparison with competitors

The HW-Q600H offers a powerful and balanced sound at a price under 400 €, competing with models like the JBL Bar 500 MK2 and Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6. However, the Q800H offers better bass control and surround effects for an additional 300 €.
