Monster Hunter Outlanders, a free-to-play mobile version of the popular Monster Hunter video game series, has officially set its release date for October 29. The game will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. Developed by TiMi Studio Group in partnership with Capcom, this title is tailored for mobile gaming and features a large open world called Aesoland. This world introduces new monsters and species not found in previous games in the series. At launch, players will have access to seven weapon types, including the Great Sword, Long Sword, and Bow, with more weapon categories expected in future updates. Players can choose to hunt monsters alone or team up with up to four other players in cooperative mode. The game will include unique "Original Adventurers," each with special weapon combinations and new attack abilities. Companions like Palicos, Rutaco, and Trillan will also be present, providing support during hunts. While the game is set to launch on October 29 on the App Store and Google Play, some reports suggest that players in China may have to wait until 2027 for the game to become available there. Monster Hunter Outlanders will use a gacha system, where players can obtain special adventurers through random draws or lotteries, rather than progressing in a traditional, skill-based manner. Each adventurer will have different weapon combinations and abilities. The game also introduces new monsters, including the ancient dragon Ruger Aidal, which is described as a "radiant monster." These radiant monsters are crystalline mutants of standard creatures and have unique mechanics that challenge players. Radiant monsters, such as the radiant Rathalos, can create crystals in the arena that explode, forcing hunters to position themselves carefully. When cornered, these monsters enter a special rage state that must be countered by destroying specific crystals on their bodies. This mechanic adds an extra layer of difficulty for experienced players and highlights the game's focus on strategy and teamwork.
