Jean-François Virot Daub has been named general director of Citiz, a car-sharing cooperative, following the board of directors of France Autopartage deciding to renew Claire Lambert in her role as president. Virot Daub brings 18 years of experience in the car-sharing sector to his new position. Previously, he served as general director of Auto’trement, a cooperative that manages Citiz services in the Grand Est region of France.
France Autopartage, established in 2002 by early pioneers in the car-sharing industry, is headquartered in Strasbourg and employs 25 people. It oversees 15 local operators within the Citiz network, which offers shared mobility solutions across France. The organization plays a key role in supporting and coordinating the activities of its member cooperatives.
Virot Daub, a 44-year-old native of Alsace, has been the national spokesperson for the Citiz Network since 2024. He also holds the position of president of the Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants (CJD) of Strasbourg, an organization that supports young business leaders, since 2025. In his new role, he will focus on expanding Citiz services nationwide and leading innovation projects aimed at improving the shared mobility experience.
The appointment comes at a time when car-sharing is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to traditional car ownership, particularly in urban areas. As Citiz looks to grow its presence across France, Virot Daub's experience and leadership will be crucial in driving the cooperative's future strategy.
