Amazon expands Echo product line
Amazon has introduced several new devices to its Echo product line, focusing on artificial intelligence, smart home integration, and better sound quality. The company unveiled three new speakers, including a redesigned Echo Dot, a connected alarm called Echo Time, and an Echo Studio with a built-in camera. These additions join the existing Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio 2025, aiming to offer more choices for consumers with different needs.Echo Dot gets new features
The new Echo Dot keeps its circular design but adds a smart home hub compatible with Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols, allowing it to control various smart devices without an extra gateway. It also includes an eero Wi-Fi repeater to extend network coverage and a revised wideband speaker for better bass. A version for children, the Echo Dot Kids, is also available with content tailored for younger users and parental controls.Echo Time monitors sleep
The Echo Time is a connected alarm clock that uses Omnisense technology with ultrasonic and temperature sensors to monitor sleep phases. It can wake the user during a lighter phase up to 60 minutes before their scheduled time. The device includes a SleepMark certification from the National Sleep Foundation and has a customizable circular screen. It costs $200 in the U.S., with an extra charge for a stand sold separately. A children's version with a one-year Kids+ subscription is also planned.Echo Studio adds camera
The Echo Studio with Home Camera includes the same audio features as the Echo Studio 2025 but adds a 13-megapixel camera for visual interaction with Alexa+. This allows the assistant to recognize objects and provide relevant information. The Live View feature lets users check on their room remotely, and the device includes a physical button to disable the camera and microphones, as well as an LED indicator for cloud transmission. It is priced at €259.99 in France, while the standard version remains at €239.99.Echo Show 16 launched
Amazon also introduced the Echo Show 16, a large 16-inch smart screen with a Full HD display, an improved 13-megapixel camera with night vision, and an enhanced sound system with eight micro-woofers and two tweeters.
