New routes to Milan and London

Rennes Bretagne Airport has announced two new seasonal routes to be added to its international network. These routes will connect the airport to Milan-Malpensa and London-Luton, starting in May 2027 and July 2027 respectively.

Flights operated by easyJet

The new services will be operated by easyJet, offering two flights per week during the summer months. Ticket sales for both routes will begin on October 15, 2026, with the Milan-Malpensa route running from May to September 2027 and the London-Luton service operating in July and August 2027.

Expansion of easyJet’s destinations

These additions will bring easyJet’s total number of destinations from Rennes to six. The existing routes include Nice, London-Gatwick, Manchester, and Geneva, which were added in 2025.

Collaboration between airport and airline

Yannick Bouiller, director of Rennes Bretagne, said the new routes result from close collaboration with easyJet to meet traveler needs. Reginald Otten, deputy director of easyJet for France, noted that the Milan route will serve both business and leisure travelers, offering access to Italy’s economic hub and surrounding areas.

Broader network expansion

The new routes follow a broader expansion of Rennes Airport’s network, which included services to Seville, Bastia, and Ajaccio in 2026. These seasonal offerings reflect the airport’s strategy to adapt to fluctuating passenger demand.

New concession agreement

The development of the airport’s network comes ahead of a new concession agreement for Rennes and Dinard airports. This agreement, awarded to a group including VINCI Airports, the CCI Ille-et-Vilaine, and SEALAR, is expected to run from January 1, 2027, to the end of 2046.

Airport modernization goals

Rennes Airport recorded about 512,000 passengers in 2025 and aims to reach one million by 2030-2031. Modernization efforts include improving access routes, pedestrian areas, and terminal facilities, along with energy initiatives like photovoltaic investments and replacing gas boilers with heat pumps.
