Nighttime construction begins in Savigny-sur-Orge

Nighttime work on a train track in Savigny-sur-Orge, Essonne, will begin on Monday, October 19, and continue until December 23. The project, managed by SNCF Réseau, involves the renewal of the track and is expected to cause noise disturbances for nearby residents.

City emphasizes noise and cleanliness

The municipality of Savigny-sur-Orge has requested SNCF Réseau to pay special attention to reducing noise, maintaining cleanliness at the site, and managing parking during the works. These concerns were outlined in a press release issued by the city.

Night work necessary for Transilien traffic

According to the press release, nighttime construction was the only viable option to avoid completely interrupting traffic on the Transilien network. Daytime work would have required halting all service between Paris and Orléans, which would have caused significant disruption.

Parking restrictions will be implemented

To accommodate workers and construction vehicles, several parking restrictions will be introduced. More than 40 parking spaces will be reserved, with 12 spaces near access points to the network and an additional dozen at the Fontaine-Blanche parking lot.

Residents advised to check temporary signs

The city urges residents to check temporary signage before parking, as it will indicate the dates and times of the restrictions. Additionally, the municipality has asked SNCF to add extra signage at the Fontaine-Blanche parking lot to help users prepare for the changes.
