New smartwatch preview released

The American website Android Authority published, this Thursday, videos that show the complete tour of the Galaxy Fit 4, the future smartwatch from Samsung. It is shown in black, white, and a very light blue, with a screen on the front. These video renderings are of the same type as those found on a product sheet, which suggests that the release is no longer far away.

Design similar to previous model

In terms of design, the Galaxy Fit 4 would look exactly like the Galaxy Fit 3, released in 2024. The same rectangular elongated screen with rounded corners, the physical button on the right side and the silicone band with a buckle would be found. On the back, the heart rate sensors and the two charging contacts would be positioned in the same place as on the previous model.

Limited features of the previous model

For reference, the Fit 3 was equipped with a 1.6-inch Amoled screen and promised up to 13 days of battery life. The bracelet did not have an integrated GPS or an NFC chip for contactless payments. It was therefore mainly used for activity tracking and notifications.

Speculations about new features

The technical specifications of the Galaxy Fit 4 remain unknown, but an older leak gives some clues. Early August, Android Authority had noticed in Samsung documents a reference device SM-R391, designated "FIT4". It would work with Bluetooth Low Energy, the version of Bluetooth that consumes the least, and would likely use a Goodix GH3036 chip, which measures heart rate by light while consuming very little. However, nothing in the leaks mentions a GPS or NFC.

Potential price and release timeline

It should be said that the Galaxy Fit focuses first on its price. At its launch in France in February 2024, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 was offered at 69.99 euros. The Galaxy Fit 4 could remain at this price level, under 100 euros. Samsung has not announced a date or price for the Galaxy Fit 4. According to Sammy Fans, the bracelet has already obtained a certification in Malaysia, a mandatory step before any sale in this country. In addition, according to SamMobile, the manufacturer could launch its bracelet "later in the year," without further details.
