Deck's power praised

The Magic: The Gathering Commander deck called Reality Fracture has been labeled by Wizards of the Coast as "among the most powerful we have ever released," according to a report from IGN. The deck includes many strong cards, such as alternate versions of famous creatures like the Ur-Sphinx and a powerful Planeswalker named Jace.

Single pre-constructed deck

Despite the expansion's many high-quality cards, Wizards of the Coast has only created one pre-constructed deck for Reality Fracture. This approach is similar to the company's decision for the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" expansion, which also featured only one pre-constructed deck.

Reason for one deck

Gavin Verhey, a game designer at Magic: The Gathering, explained that the choice to release only one deck was to avoid issues with stores stocking multiple versions. He noted that the Jace Echoverse deck, part of the Multiverse Reforged set, was so strong that the team decided to focus on creating a single, impactful deck with a four-color identity and new cards.

Deck's versatility and strength

Verhey addressed the idea that the deck is a "toolbox," meaning it can be used in many different ways. He said the team sees it as a "true war machine" right from the start. While the deck includes many strong individual legends, which can make it seem like a toolbox, Verhey suggested that future themes might highlight series of new legends in a similar way.
