Grande Panda gets larger battery

Fiat has expanded the battery options for the Grande Panda, introducing a larger battery that allows the vehicle to approach a 400 km range.

Grande Panda's battery and range

The Grande Panda, which is available in thermal, mild hybrid, and 100% electric versions, has returned to the market for versatile city cars (segment B). The electric version of the Grande Panda is equipped with an LFP battery of 43.8 kWh, providing a mixed WLTP range of up to 327 km.

Larger battery from same platform

A larger LFP battery of 52.8 kWh (net capacity) is also available, which is the same battery found in SUVs using the same platform, such as the Citroën ë-C3 Aircross. The larger battery brings the Grande Panda's range closer to 400 km according to the mixed WLTP cycle, positioning it near other city cars that exceed 400 km, such as the Renault 5 or Volkswagen ID.Polo.

Pricing for Grande Panda variants

The base price of the Grande Panda with the larger battery is 25,900 euros, while the Renault 5 with a 52 kWh battery starts at 31,990 euros, although it comes with more complete and technological equipment. The Grande Panda Pop, priced at 25,900 euros (without subsidies), includes air conditioning, reverse radar, and digital instrumentation as standard, but does not have a touchscreen, which is available in the Icon version for 27,800 euros.

Top model and price difference

The top-of-the-range La Prima is priced at 30,800 euros. The price difference with the smaller battery, which is still available, is 2,000 euros, for an additional 70/80 km of range. The car has a 100 kW DC charging capability and retains an 83 kW (113 hp) motor.

Subsidies and comparison with Citroën

There is a discount of 1,500 euros and the car benefits from a CEE grant that varies between 3,650 and 7,000 euros. The Grande Panda can thus be a good choice for those looking for range at a good price. Citroën, on the other hand, has not yet announced a large battery version of the ë-C3.
